Meet Teresa Kearn, LPC
Reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming.
Maybe you've been carrying more than anyone realizes. Maybe your mind never seems to slow down. Maybe you're exhausted from trying to keep everything together while wondering why it feels harder than it should.
If you're here, you don't have to figure it out alone.
My name is Teresa Kearn, and I provide individual therapy for teens, young adults, parents, and adults throughout Washington, Kansas and across the state through telehealth. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood—not judged, rushed, or treated like a problem that needs fixing.
My goal is simple: to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are and begin making sense of what you're carrying.
My Approach To Therapy
At the heart of my work is a person-centered, strengths-based approach.
That means I don't believe therapy is about focusing on what's wrong with you. Instead, we work together to understand your experiences, recognize your strengths, and build the tools you need to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.
You are the expert on your own life.
My role isn't to tell you what to do. It's to listen, ask thoughtful questions, notice patterns you may not see, and help you discover what healing and growth look like for you.
Some sessions may focus on practical skills and strategies. Others may involve slowing down, processing emotions, or working through experiences that have been weighing on you for years.
Together, we'll find the pace and approach that feels right for you.
Why I Love this Work
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of supporting young people and families through some of the most important and challenging seasons of life.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a teacher and school counselor. I also teach at the collegiate level, which allows me to stay connected to the unique pressures and experiences facing today's adolescents and young adults.
These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for how people grow, adapt, and overcome challenges—and how often they simply need a safe place to be heard.
Whether I'm working with a teenager struggling with anxiety, a young adult trying to find their footing, or a parent who feels overwhelmed and exhausted, my goal remains the same:
To help people feel less alone and more connected to themselves.
